Where Does My Money Go?

Updated: 12/1/16

If you are interested in signing your child up for Girl Scouts in the Groton, NY area, please click here for information on membership dues, registrations, and so forth.

Registration Fee:  $15

This $15 cost is to get each girl registered with the Girl Scouts.  As a reminder, financial assistance is available!

Membership Dues:  $20

This $20 fee is the requested membership dues most of the troops in Groton.  These membership due help troops cover the cost of new registrations until fall product sales or Girl Scout cookie sales.  This money will be put towards arts and craft supplies, badges, awards, and so forth.

This $20 can be paid upfront at our first meeting or it can be spread over weekly increments.

Uniform:

All Groton Girl Scouts are encouraged to have uniforms, as many times we require them for the girls to walk in parades.  Some financial aid is available to cover the cost of uniforms and there are typically two options:  a less expensive sash or a more expensive vests.  Uniform fees typically range between $25 and $50 depending on your selection.  All troop leaders can assist with the process.

Trips

Our goal is to have monthly troop activities that may include a trip to the Waterworks in Cortland to feed the ducks, learn about nature, and so forth.  Most of these events will be free.

Our service unit (includes Dryden and McLean) regularly hosts activities/trips, such as overnights, bowling, and more.  There will be a fee for these.  Until we generate money from Nuts and Candy sales (fall) and Cookie sales (late winter), you may be asked to contribute to your daughter’s trip fees.

PLEASE NOTE:  This is just a general guide.  All troops in Groton operate separately and they may choose different trips or events to attend.  Please note that ALL activities are optional.
